Davis Stuart was born in the early 1600's and died in Paris in 1669. He taught Philosophy in Leiden as a lecturer between 1661-1662 and thereafter as Professor of Metaphysics in the Philosophy School until his death in 1669. In 1663 Philip Skippon heard a lecture br Dr John Antonide Vander and noted Dr David Stuartus as one of his auditors on the section to do with diaphram and lungs. Cf.
