Paul Wood was the son of Richard Wood of Scottish noble origins. Paul was born in 1611 in Strand. He became a royal equerry in Sweden and in 1644 he served as a corporal in the noble corps. He was ennobled in 1646 and introduced into the House of Nobility in 1647. He later became a master of the royal stables. He died in 1698. Wood was married to Anna Margareta Bonnat and to Margareta Wijnbladh, and had 13 children. He was possibl related to David Wood [SSNE 3801].
