WARDLAW, JOHN [SSNE 4820]

John Wardlaw was the son of Major George Wardlaw [SSNE 4819] and his wife Anna Forbes. He was an ensign in the Narke and Varmland regiment in 1660 and a lieutenant in 1666. Four years later he was a lieutenant captain, and in 1675 he became a full captain. He was reduced in 1679. That year he was naturalised and ennobled and introduced in 1680. He died on 31 January 1694. He was married to Anna Knutsdotter Roos of Hjelmsater. They had three childrenG. Elgenstierna, Svenska Adelns Attartavlor, vol. 8, p.683; H.
