YOUNG, HANS [SSNE 4689]
Text source
John (Hans) Young was first a burgess, since 1621, and then a councillor of Gothenburg from 1624-1637. In the citizens list for 1639 his occupation was given as timber trader. Dalhede notes two individuals called Hans Jung in her database, although it seems likely they may be the same man who undertook shipments from 1641 through till 1675. If so he traded with Spain in 1641, with Amsterdam (1649, 1652, 1661), Copenhagen (1650), Hamburg (1651, 1652, 1653, 1654, 1656, 1657, 1658, 1665) and Aalborg (1655) and with London in 1675.
