Text source
Robert Guthrie, son of Gilbert Guthrie (royal herald in Scotland) and Isabella Reid, became an ensign in the Swedish cavalry in 1614. He afterwards became a major, but his date of death is uncertain. He married Catherine Bertilsonsdotter who was the widow of Torsten Stålhandske and thereby became the owner of Tervik near Borgå in Finland. Her son Torsten was the famous General Stålhandske. Robert and Catherine's children included daughter Catherine [SSNE 6264] who married the Scottish officer John Lichton [SSNE 4360] in 1628.
