William Kerr was in Danish-Norwegian service from 15 March 1626 in Colonel Donald Mackay's [SSNE 93] regiment. He was wounded in action at Eckernforde in 1628, and appointed to the rank of lieutenant by 4 October the same year. He received further promotion to lieutenant captain by the summer 1629, but was reformed soon after. he left service with the rank of captain. A Lieutenant Captain William Kerr was billeted in Langeland between October 1628 and May 1629
