Sir George Talbot served as an English 'agent' operating in Denmark in 1665. His expenses were signed off under the signet in December 1664. These warrants called him an envoy rather than an agent and state he was to be paid £5 per day, besides allowancess for intelligence gathered. Letters from him to Sir G.Downing dated 15, 25 April and 6 May regarding the signing of a treaty and the arrival of the French envoy, Terlon survive - as do many other useful documents.
