Goran Crafoord was one of Alexander Crawford's [SSNE 1610] sons, and brother of William Crafoord [SSNE 2097]. He began his military service as a 'forare' in Colonel Alexander Leslie's [SSNE 1] regiment in 1622 but transferred to the Royal Lifeguard in 1625. Thereafter he served in the Vastmanlands regiment (in 1628), and in Upplands regiment from 1629. Goran served in the Swedish army during the Thirty Years' War. According to SAÄ, Goran was eventually dismissed in 1640. However, the muster-roll records show him still in service until 1647. His association with the Royal Household resulted in a land grant from Queen Kristina of a small farm in Wallby parish in Uppland in October 1641. The Queen's letter implied that Kraffert had rights to certain produce from the farm, as did his wife, for the duration of their lives, but that the farm was actually worked by one Bengt Jonsson. Goran died in April 1647
