Text source

James Dunbar was a nephew of his namesake in the same regiment. This man served in Colonel Donald Mackay's [SSNE 93] regiment in an, as yet, uncertain company. He acted as the regimental quartermaster from 15/3/1626, when they were garrisoned at Gluckstadt after September 1627. He became Quartermaster General through the winter of 1628-9, and was reformed that year. This is probably the same man who served as Quartermaster in Swedish service of the same name [SSNE 2432]
