Robert Turner was an Englishman who came to Sweden with Francis Sheldon [SSNE 2523] in 1659. He initially served as Sheldon's apprentice at Gothenburg from 1659-1665. He then worked in Stockholm from 1666-1672. He served as master shipbuilder at Skeppsholmen from June 1673 until 1680, where he built Frederika Amalia, Maria, Delfinen, Carolus XI, Stenbocken and Hedvig Eleonora. In December that year he moved to Karlskrona and worked there until his death in May 1686.
