Johan Forrat was listed as a ship's lieutenant in the Swedish navy in 1645. He was recruited in the Dutch Republic on 9 April 1645 and departed on 30 September the same year along with a number of other lieutenants for service under Mårten Tiessonn Anckerhielm. Örlogsflottans räkenskaper shows that he earned 50 florins per month (20 daler). We know that his (unnamed wife) recieved the same amount
