James/John Robbins was the son of the English master shipbuilder in Danish-Norwegian service James Robbins [SSNE 4074]. James jr followed in his father's footsteps in June 1647 when he was given a position in Bremerholm with an annual salary of 300 rigsdaler. On 23 September 1651 King Frederik III of Denmark-Norway commanded Gregers Krabbe to ensure that Jacob Robbins the younger should get the right salary for his services to the Crown, namely 200 RigsdalerNorske Rigsregistranter, vol.8, (1884), p.524; vol.10 (1887), p.286; M.
