Colonel Andrey Inglis, from 1701, commanded the infantry regiment which bore his name (later the Viborg regiment). In 1704 he was active in the capture and fortification of Narva. In 1705-6 he commanded a garrison at Ivangorod. He corresponded with his half-brothers, the Bruces [SSNE 1676] [SSNE 2467]. In 1709 an infantry colonel Inglis was wounded at Poltava (if it was the same man).
