Thomas Carr, a brother of John [SSNE 3825] and Robert [SSNE 3826], was "a foreigner of Scottish land",and founder of the Russian noble family of Kar. He was granted an estate near Nizhny Novgorod in 1625. His sons Gabriel [SSNE 3919] and Philip [SSNE 3208]converted to OrthodoxyG. P.
