James Wood was a lieutenant in Axel Duwall's Uppland squadron in 1627. He was in Bengt Bagges Vastmanland regiment in 1628

It was possibly this man who served as lieutenant colonel to the the Earl Marischal in the Army of the Solemn League and Covenant in 1644.
