Frederik Sinclair was the son of Colonel Andrew Sinclair [SSNE 3497] and his wife Anna Botvidsdotter (some sources say Amundsson).
Frederik was a student at Uppsala in 1688. After his studies he became a soldier in Makeleer's infantry regiment in 1691. In 1693 he was an ensign in the Helsinge regiment and he became a lieutenant in 1700. The following year he was made a second captain, followed by first captain in 1701.In 1696 he married Birgitta Strömner.
In January 1706 Sinclair was in Stockholm where he met up with Olof Benzelius and signed his autograph album, simply penning his name, Fredericus A. Sinckler, and no quote.
Frederik died childless at Liesna in 1708.
