Ludovig Sinclair served as an ensign with KD von Dohna's recruited infantry regiment in Swedish service in 1666 and was promoted to lieutenant in 1668. He later served in Henrik Horn's recruited infantry regiment in 1675. Interestingly there was at least one other (possibly two) man of the same name serving in the Danish-Norwegian army at the same time as this one. See SSNE 335 and 1313. Given that he is the only Swedish Ludovig Sinclair identifyable at this time, it is possible that it was he who was the father of Johan/Hans Sinclair [SSNE 3319] who was born in Stade in Swedish Bremen soon after this man is found in Swedish service. If so his wife was called Christina and was apparently a daughter of 'Lord Stanhouse'Stockholm Krigsarkivet, Muster Roll, 1666/11,12; 1668/9; 1675/5,12.
