SEATON, WILLIAM [SSNE 3482]
Text source
William Seaton was an officer in Swedish service from 1624-1627. He was a captain at Alvsborg in 1624. He became colonel "vaktmastare" (master of the watch) in 1626 and subsequently a major serving in Colonel Ribbingen's regiment. He was certainly dead by August 1628 as at that point Chancellor Axel Oxenstierna intervened on behalf of his widow who had been left bereft with her children on the death of her husband. One source notes him as colonel in the Uppland infantry regiment in 1625, but this is probably confusing him with another Seaton.
