Hans Johansson Reid was born in 1601, the son of John Reid. As an adult he became a captain in the Björneborg infantry regiment. He was ennobled as Reeth in 1653, and introduced under nr. 598. In 1654 he received a donation of land. In 1656 he was with a regiment in the Strassburg garrison. He died the same year on campaign in Poland and he was the last of his branch as he had no issue. This did not prevent Alexander Magnus Reid (grandson of Johan Reid) from entering the nobility by claiming descent from Hans. Thanks to Martti Bergestad for this information
