John Seton was in Danish service from 1675. He played an active part in the storming of Wismar, Bornholm, Kalmar, Rugen, Limerick, Galway to name just some of the actions in which he was involved. He served as an ensign in Prince Frederik's regiment in 1682. Later he served in Ireland in 1689 with the Prince's battalion and also in Flanders in 1692. Seton was in Ryswick in 1699 and then returned to Denmark, where he was captain in the Viborg infantry regiment. He sought a lt.colonelcy in 1713 in respect of his length of service, but died before 12/2/1714.J.C.W. Hirsch and K.
