ASHTON, HENRY [SSNE 3215]
Text source
Henry Ashton left Moscow in 1631 and hired officers abroad while posing as a colonel. On his return to Moscow he told Mikhail that Charles had promoted him. It appears that neither Ashton or the officers he recruited were taken into Russian service.G. P.
