Wilhelm Nisbeth was the son of William Nisbeth [SSNE 3198] and Christina Gray [SSNE 6260]. He was an ensign in the Uppland regiment in 1658 and a lieutenant by 1660. Nisbeth was ennobled in 1664 and introduced into the Riddarhus under nr. 828 in 1675. He was regimental quartermaster in 1675 and in 1677 he became a captain. Nisbeth was dismissed in 1680. He died in 1695. He was twice married, first to his stepmother's sister, Sofia Bollja, then to Margareta Duwall, the daughter of Colonel Mauritz Macdougal [SSNE 2473]. Wilhelm had a brother, Carl [SSNE 1728].
