Johan Rudolph (Rudolph Johan) Muschamp served as an ensign in the Jonkoping regiment in 1674, although he joined as a sergeant. In 1676 he became a lieutenant and the following year he was elevated to captain in the Kronoberg's regiment. Muschamp married Marta Netherwood [SSNE 6395] sometime after 1677. There were many individuals by the name of Muschamp in Scottish regiments or elsewhere in Sweden, although those for whom we can establish nationality are usually English born like Thomas Muschamp [SSNE 3168], or of mixed Scots-English heritage like his daughters Isabella [SSNE 6329] and Margaretha [SSNE 6327].Stockholm Krigsarkivet, Muster Roll, 1674/5,9; 1675/9; 1676/9; 1677/11; 1678/5; 1679/5,10,15,19; 1683/8,15,18; 1684/1; 1686/5; 1688/6; 1699/6,7; Svenska Adelns Ättartavlor, vol. 5, p.418.
