John Kerr/Karr was a Scottish officer in Swedish service. A Captain John Kerr served in William Gunn's squadron in 1636 at Wittstock. He is missing from the October muster-roll, so may have been injured. A man of the same name became a major in Robert Monro's [SSNE 94] recruited infantry regiment in 1638-9. In 1639 he also was major in Alexander Cunningham's [SSNE 2115] recruited infantry regiment. He was listed as one of the Scottish captains who levied a regiment in 1637 for service in Germany
