Johanna Kinnaird was the daughter of the Scottish-Gothenburg burgess, James Kinnaird [SSNE 1124] and his wife Elizabeth Wedderburn [SSNE 6199]. She was born in Dundee, though the exact date is unclear. That given by Edward Spalding of 2 December 1609 is unlikely as that would have made her 11 at her wedding. She also had two sisters, Barbara and Elisabeth [SSNE 6436] and a brother Alexander, possibly [SSNE 2824]. Johanna married the Scot, Johan/Hans Spalding [SSNE 4677] on 26 December 1620 and together they had six children; Johan [SSNE 4941], Elizabeth [SSNE 6413], Johanna [SSNE 6414], Margareta [SSNE 6415], Anna [SSNE 6416] and Catharina [SSNE 6417]. She died in Gothenburg on 9 September 1678.
