Jorgen Jensen Mackenzie was a corporal in Nordenfjeldske dragoon corps ntil 1702 when he became a sergeant. In 1711 he was made an ensign and 2 years later he became a lieutenant. In 1730 he was appointed lieutenant captain of Vaerdalske life company. He left service in 1732. He is probably the son of Jens Jacobsen and grandson of James Mackenzie. James wes the son of Jost. It is unclear if Jost and/or James were born in Scotland or NorwayO. Ovenstad, Militaerbiografier Den Norske Haers Officerer, vol. II (Oslo, 1949), p.148.
