John Forbes matriculated at Uppsala University in 1645 with P. Olaus Forbets the year after Matthew [SSNE 226] and Alexander Forbets[SSNE 227]. He was probably a great grandson of Henry Forbes of Thainstone. His parents were Colonel John Forbes [SSNE 2243] and Catherine Laurelius. A man of his name then registered at Åbo Academy in 1648.
