Christian Reisen was a Norwegian Goldsmith who came from Trondheim in Norway. In 1664 he moved to Aberdeen where he warked for a Goldsmith called Melvin. He remained in Aberdeen for about two years before moving south to London. There he worked as a successful jeweller but ran into trouble with the authorities when he was suspected of engraving dies for coins. He was arrested and jailed, but later released without charge. He died c.1700.
