Sir James Cunningham served first in Gustaf Horn's Norrland regiment, then in Jakmes Duwall's [SSNE 1623] Norrland regiment, and finally in Johan Baner's Norrland regiment. It was probably he whom Robert Monro [SSNE 94] mentions as lieutenant colonel in Swedish service in 1632
