Theobold Burke entered Swedish military service as an ensign in James Spens' [SSNE 1642] regiment in 1630. He was probably related to lieutenant Edmund Burke [SSNE 1987] in the same regiment. There is then a break in the records until a man of the same name appears in Robert Stuart's [SSNE 529] regiment in 1639, and this may be the same man
