BRUCE, ANDERS [SSNE 1872]

Anders or Andrew Bruce was the son of Robert Bruce [SSNE 4347]. He was baptised in 1640 and became a knight with Yxkull's dragoon regiment, in which he served for seven years. He departed in 1672 and then became a lieutenant in the southern Skåne cavalry, Hans Ramsvard's, regiment, in 1676. Bruce thereafter became master of horse in 1677 and departed from service as a major in 1702. In 1691, Bruce married Christina Tornefeldt and in 1695 one of his lieutenants, Magnus Blom had occassion to make a complaint against him. No action seems to have been taken. Bruce died in 1711.
