Paul Best was an English officer in Swedish service who served as an ensign in George Fleetwood's [SSNE 2208] recruited infantry regiment. He may be the same as Paul Best noted as serving under King Gustav Adolf, and studying in Germany, before returning to England. If he did serve under Gustav Adolf, then he must have been in service since at least 1632
