Hildebrand Panton served with William Ruthven's [SSNE 1721] corps in the Swedish army in 1591. This is undoubtedly the same man, a "Skottzman" who fathered a child with Elizabeth Henricksdotter [SSNE 8355] after their marriage. Elizabeth later married William Forbes [SSNE 7294], and from her records we can decuce that Hildebrand had died by c.1597 at the latest.
