FORBES, MARGARET [SSNE 1704]

Margaret Forbes was the eldest daughter of William Forbes of Corse and Elizabeth Strachan (alternatively Susanna Strachan) and the sister of William Forbes [SSNE 382]. In 1586, she married Henry Forbes of Thainstone [SSNE 1618], Aberdeen who emigrated to serve as a captain with Scottish troops in Swedish service. They had two sons, Peter [SSNE 1671] and James [SSNE 779], who were both ennobled and served the Swedish state.
