George Wright (f.1650-1694) was born in Scotland and fled during the Cromwellian period to establish himself in Narva c.1650. George was both a shoemaker and a merchant and was ennobled in Sweden. He was married twice. His first wife was Anna Rucker who died in 1659. His second marriage was to Anna Walding who died in 1698. With his second wife, George had four sons and five daughters. The most significant of those was Henrik Wright the soldier.Svenska Adelns Attartavlor, vol. 9, p.69.
