Text source
John King was the son of David King of Vesterbotter in Shetland and Maria Senescalli, daughter of James V's bastard son [the prior of Perth], Adam. He was called to Sweden by his brother [some sources say uncle], General James King [SSNE 2814] with his wife and child. In November 1641, John married Margaret Buchan, daughter of James Buchan of Auchmacoy. His sons James [SSNE 2816] and Henry [SSNE 4789] were both born in Scotland and were raised the Swedish nobility in the 1670s.
