Hans Skotte (likely John Scott) was listed as a gardener at Koldinghus, where he had been given food.

Hans Skotte married Marine by 9/7/1578 and subsequently asked for specified wages, which the king granted 9/7/1578. In return Marine, his wife, was to manage the kaleyard and Hans Skotte was to supervise two assistants in winter, three in summer.

Hans Skotte's wage was changed 17/6/1580 and reduced 31/8/1593.

In 1587, on 11 and 14 July the king gave Hans Skotte the kaleyard at Kolding which he had used as property. In return, Hans Skotte was to serve in the urban militia 1588, weapon not mentioned.

Hans Skotte had died by 1595 as that year in September his widow obtained from the king a grant of two pounds of corn yearly for three years 13/9/1595.
