Daniel Rogers, 1538-1591, served as a diplomat for Queen Elisabeth I in December 1587 and again in June 1588. On both occasions he was sent to Denmark, though he also stopped in the Dutch Republic in both directions. On his second visit he brought the queen's condolences to Christian IV on the death of his father, Frederik II. Rogers also managed to convince the Danish king that neither Danes nor Norwegians should be allowed to serve in Spain against EnglandG. M.
