William Allestree was an envoy to Sweden from 1677-79. In 1678 Edward Wood [SSNE 4440] wrote to the Swedish king Karl XI to inform him that Allestree was returning to England with charters from Sweden for King Charles II. Allestree himself wrote to the Swedish Secretary Lillieflycht (?) in 1677Swedish Riksarkiv, Anglica 522; Svenske Sändebuds till Utländske Hof och Deras Sändebud till Sverige, Sv. RA. 1841.
