George Carew (died in 1612)is listed as a lawyer and a diplomat, secretary to lord chancellors Hatton and Egerton and MP for various Cornish boroughs 1584-1601. His diplomatic duties took him as an envoy to Sweden in 1592, and again in 1598 when he also went to Poland. Carew was eventually replaced as ambassador in Poland by Henry Lyall [SSNE 2404]. Between 1599-1612, Carew was a master in the Chancery. He was eventually knighted in 1603 and then served as a Stuart envoy to France 1605-9. In 1612 he served as Master of Court, and he died that year.
