Apart from his duties relating to Sweden and Denmark, Meadowe also had responsibilities in Poland and the Hanse towns. He is listed as having diplomatic dealings with Sweden at Roskilde in 1658, the same year that he again served as an envoy to Denmark in 1658. Meadowes was bribed by Charles X with 10 000 Rixdaler. One author claims he took the money "but there is no evidence that Meadowes allowed his judgement or his reports to be influenced by it". He was also presented with the Danish 'Order of the Elephant' by Frederik III. He published an account of the wars between Sweden and Denmark in 1675.
