David Clayhill was admitted burgess of Elsinore in 1568 (guarantors William Ford, and John Simpson), and paid taxes there between 1568-83. He had to serve in the urban militia in 1583 with a sword, a spear and armour, but died that year. His estate was divided between his widow, who had to pay his debts (but keep the house and claims), and his sister JeanT. Riis, Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot (Odense, 1988), II, p.214.
