David Clayhill was admitted burgess of Elsinore in 1568 (guarantors William Ford, and John Simpson), and paid taxes there between 1568-83. He had to serve in the urban militia in 1583 with a sword, a spear and armour, but died that year. His estate was divided between his widow, who had to pay his debts (but keep the house and claims), and his sister Jean
