LGBT+ History month
The School of History marks LGBT+ History Month each February through events and activities focussed on showcasing LGBTQIA+ histories and the history of sexuality, and on improving and increasing our engagement with these in our research and teaching throughout the year.
Examples of past events and activities:
- On 22nd February 2024, we co-hosted LGBTQ+ History Month Lightning Talks with the School of Art History at the Student Union, consisting of 5 minute brief talks covering a variety of topics related to LGBTQ+ history.
- On 11th February 2022 we hosted a workshop entitled "Transgender Cultures in Modern History", speakers included Howard Chiang, Jessica Hinchy and Margarita Vaysman.
