How Student Services can support your wellbeing

Understand how Student Services can help you with your wellbeing including times when you experience anxiety and stress, and what resources you can access as a University of St Andrews student
Trained Student Services wellbeing advisers are available to help you. If you are a postgraduate student, you can ask to meet one of our dedicated postgraduate advisers.
You don’t have to have a mental health concern to meet with us. We can help with:
- perfectionism
- time management
- stress
- anxiety
- or any other student life issue.

Coaching
Student Services also offers coaching for personal development. This helps you consider where you are, where you want to be and how you get there.

Group sessions
Student Services offers group sessions to provide practical advice and support to students to address common difficulties. Group sessions are held in-person, on Microsoft Teams and hybrid.
In the group sessions, you are invited to share your advice and experience, but you do not have to.
Other University support
ShelfHelp
ShelfHelp gathers self-help resources available from the University Library. Topics include:
- dyspraxia
- sleep
- self-harm
- confidence building
- bereavement.
Chaplaincy
The Chaplaincy provides pastoral care to all students, regardless of faith or philosophy of life.
University of St Andrews Students’ Association
The Students’ Association has a Students’ Representative Council (SRC) that helps students share their views and raise any concerns. The SRC has a Wellbeing subcommittee that meets regularly to discuss student health and wellbeing.
Email wellbeing@st-andrews.ac.uk if you would like to attend a weekly meeting, or join the Wellbeing forum in Microsoft Teams to attend the monthly meetings.
