Reapply for your visa after a refusal
Updated on: 29 May 2024
Understand why a visa could be refused and what to do next.
Most visa applications made by students coming to the University of St Andrews are successful.
A visa could be refused if:
- your passport or other required documents were not provided
- documents were not in the correct format
- financial requirements were not met
- qualifications highlighted in the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) were not provided.
What to do if your visa is refused
If your visa is refused please contact the International Advice team immediately and email the following to advint@st-andrews.ac.uk:
- visa refusal letter
- student ID number
- information on where you made the application.
The International Advice team will review the refusal documentation and can arrange a new CAS to be issued if the reason for refusal has been resolved.
