Find out what is expected of you and what your cleaning responsibilities are.
To ensure hygiene standards, Residence staff will complete monthly cleaning inspections in all accommodation areas, including:
- bedrooms
- shared kitchens
- shared shower rooms (toilets and showers)
- shared lounge areas
- en suite shower rooms.
You must keep your accommodation clean and tidy. If you share a room, shower room, kitchen, or lounge area, the University recommends organising a cleaning and recycling rota with other residents.
Your cleaning responsibilities

Cleaning products are available from your residence if you need to clean bodily fluids. This cleaning is not covered by University staff.
