Halls Life Coordinator
Mark Westbrook
Hello! I am excited to welcome you all to your new home. I hope that you will enjoy the many diverse events and activities that we run throughout the year with members of our Hall Committee and as part of the Halls Life Programme. Please feel free to drop me a line at any time if you want a chat and a good cup of tea in the Warden’s Office. Enjoy Hall Life and welcome home!
Deputy Warden
Natosha Hoduski
Hello, I’m Natosha. I’m a third-year PhD student in International Relations. I research the hydro politics of conflict in Syria. When I’m not doing that or helping around ABH, I’m painting, out on the Fife Coastal Path, dreaming about travel, or chatting about everything from politics to Liverpool FC over gin and tonics. Feel free to reach out with questions or concerns, or if you just want to chat. I’m excited to meet you all.
Assistant wardens
Alex Houston
I’m Alex, a first-year PhD student in Geography researching how coastal ecosystems can help us fight climate change. I’m from the west coast of Scotland and I love cycling and hill walking. When I’m not working or doing something outdoors, you can often find me at folk music gigs. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone, so feel free to stop and chat to me any time.
Harvey Cawdron
Hi everyone. I’m Harvey, a second-year PhD student in Theology. My research focuses on using topics in philosophy of mind to understand original sin. When I’m not busy with that, you’ll find me in the gym, on the football pitch, or in some of the local coffee shops and pubs with some friends. I’m originally from Margate, in Kent, and studied in Bristol before moving here. If you see me around, please feel free to say hi. I'm more than happy to help.
Joe Harrison
Hi everyone. My name is Joe and I’m a third-year PhD student in the School of Geography. My research is on demographic outcomes of Pakistani immigrants and their children in the UK and Norway. I run our popular fortnightly board games nights in Forbes, one of the blocks in David Russell Apartments (DRA). Come along and say hi.
Mia Zendegas
Hi I’m Mia, I appreciate that St Andrews gives me the opportunity to explore what I love most (surfing and writing) in a space full of ancient history.
Rachel Humann
Hi, I’m Rachel, a second-year Chemistry PhD student researching drug discovery for neglected tropical diseases. I’m from Canada but grew up in Cambridge and previously studied at Durham University. I love spending time outdoors, skiing and spending time with my dogs. I am looking forward to meeting you and am always up for a chat, so if you see me feel free to say hi.
Roxana Murgu
Hi. I'm Roxana and my favourite thing in St Andrews is walking on West Sands.
Xin Chen
Hi, I’m Xin, a second-year PhD student in the Chemistry department working on potassium ion batteries. I am from Shanghai, China, and previously studied physics at Columbia University. Before I moved to St Andrews, I lived in the US for five years. I love travelling and meeting new people. I am also a foodie and a big fan of bubble tea. Please feel free to drop by and say hello.
