Graduation tickets
There are a limited number of tickets available per student for graduation ceremonies and garden parties (known as receptions at winter graduation).
Things you should know about graduation tickets:
- You cannot buy tickets for graduation ceremonies.
- Tickets are allocated to each graduating student for their graduation ceremony and garden party.
- Tickets will not be sent by post or email, so you will need to collect your tickets.
- Only graduating students who have completed a graduation application form will be able to collect tickets.
Tickets for your graduation ceremony
As a graduating student, you will be automatically allocated three tickets for your graduation ceremony:
- one ticket for you
- two guest tickets.
Applying for additional tickets
Additional tickets for graduation ceremonies are not guaranteed. However, you can apply for up to two additional tickets when you complete your graduation application.
Additional tickets will be allocated by ballot.
Remaining tickets after the ballot
After tickets have been allocated to ballot winners any remaining ceremony tickets will be distributed at 9am on the morning of the ceremonies from the ASC, 79 North Street.
Distribution of remaining tickets for graduation ceremonies will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Live screening for guests with no tickets
If you cannot secure additional guest tickets, your guests may still be able to enjoy the ceremony.
A live screening of each ceremony will be available in School 3 in St Salvator's Quadrangle for guests with no tickets.
Spaces are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tickets for your graduation garden party
The University will host a graduation garden party between 3.30pm and 5pm each day during graduation week.
As a graduating student, you will receive three tickets for the garden party:
- one ticket for you
- two guest tickets.
Depending on availability, you may be able to buy additional tickets for your graduation garden party from the online shop.
Ticket collection
There is not a single collection point for all your graduation tickets. You will need to collect tickets from two different places: Younger Hall and the ASC, 79 North Street.
You will need to present your student ID card or another form of photo identification when collecting any of your graduation tickets.
Collecting your graduation ceremony ticket
Your ticket for the graduation ceremony will have a designated seat number.
To collect, go to the porch at the north-west door of Younger Hall at least half an hour before the ceremony starts. Collection times are:
- 8.30am to 10.15am for morning ceremonies
- 12.15pm to 1.45pm for afternoon ceremonies.
Your two guest tickets for the graduation ceremony are not available for collection from Younger Hall. It is only your own graduation ceremony ticket that you will be able to collect from Younger Hall.
