Exploring Scotland's Path to a Sustainable Energy Future

4 November 2024

On October 3, 2024, a group of masters students from our Energy Policy & Finance MSc (EPF) and Sustainable Development MSc (SD) programmes, along with the EPF program director attended Scotland’s Energy Transition: Research and Policy Challenges, an event hosted by ClimateXChange and the UK Energy Research Centre at the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute.

Reflecting on the experience, one of the EPF students, Valentina Groposo Bertin, shared that “the event provided a valuable opportunity to learn about the actions currently being implemented in Scotland to address energy transition through policy and other approaches."

Attended by experts from government, the private sector, academia, and NGOs, the sessions offered an “enriching range of different perspectives on this global issue. Key topics such as governance and markets, community energy, heating and energy efficiency, as well as policy and research priorities, were discussed.” stated Valentina. This multi-sectoral dialogue on energy transition is important to better understand Scotland’s approach to tackling the global challenge of sustainable energy.

This is just one of many opportunities offered to our masters students to expand their knowledge, network with industry experts, and advance their careers in the field of energy policy.
