Interdisciplinary PhD Development Programme
We were delighted to welcome participants to the first workshop of the Interdisciplinary PhD Development programme held on 26 September, just outside St Andrews at the Garden Suite, Rufflets Hotel. The workshop, led by Dr Laura Meagher, focused on the ‘how’ of interdisciplinarity and brought together 48 PhD scholars from across the University. In the afternoon invited panelists included Dr Leo Curran (Director, Pew Marine Fellows Program), Professor Judy Robertson (Chair in Digital Learning, University of Edinburgh) and Dr Ken Emond (Head of Research Funding, the British Academy).
The second workshop will be on 31 October, with the concluding one on 28 November.
This new innovative programme is aimed at developing interdisciplinary research capacity and fostering collaboration, networks and community. On completion participants will be awarded a certificate and be eligible to become Associate Fellows of the Graduate School.
